One of the busiest-thriving enterprises is right here in our backyard, but we know so little about it. Our speaker, Martin Chavez, will tell us about many aspects of the port, including history, current operations, the work force, significance of the port to the community, and security/insecurity factors. Mr. Chavez is the port’s Human Resource Development Officer, responsible for the workforce competitiveness. (In terms of volume our Los Angeles port ranks number one in the U.S.)

Los Verdes Country Club, 7000 W. Los Verdes Dr., RPV. South on Hawthorne Blvd. to Los Verdes Dr. (one block south of Crest Rd.). Turn right and go ˝ mile to the golf course, park in the furthest parking area.
